Iran Cooperates Fully with IAEA, Lives Up to Commitments: UN Spokesperson.

New York: UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric emphasized the importance of Iran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), confirming that Tehran has remained committed to its obligations with the agency. Dujarric made these remarks during a Wednesday briefing in response to questions about whether IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi had informed the Board of Governors about increased stockpiles of uranium in Iran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Dujarric stated, “No, I mean, I don’t think he [António Guterres] has spoken to Mr. Grossi in the last few days,” while clarifying that Grossi operates independently from the UN Secretariat. He further underscored the necessity for Iran to fully cooperate with the IAEA and adhere to its commitments and obligations.

The statement from Dujarric came amid efforts by Britain, France, and Germany to push for another anti-Iran resolution at the IAEA’s board meeting. These moves are based on what Iran considers unfounded claims and forged docu
ments related to its nuclear program.

Rafael Grossi recently traveled to Tehran to address safeguards issues and enhance future cooperation between Iran and the IAEA. During his visit, he met with Iran’s Foreign Minister, the Head of the Atomic Energy Organization, and the President, and inspected the nuclear facilities at Fordow and Natanz. Grossi described his discussions with Iranian officials as “constructive.”

He also reiterated that IAEA inspectors have found no evidence indicating Iran’s intention to develop nuclear weapons, thus reaffirming the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program to the international community.
