Iran Criticizes US for Regional Instability and Victim Narrative

Tehran:Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has criticized the United States for contributing to regional instability and subsequently portraying itself as a victim. He emphasized that the US, along with Israel, should be held accountable for the repercussions of their military actions.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei highlighted incidents where the US allegedly attacked Iran twice within nine months during ongoing negotiations. He accused the US of killing Iranian civilians in Minab, murdering daughters in Lamerd, assassinating leaders, and intensifying sanctions against Iran.

Baqaei also mentioned that the US violated a memorandum of understanding signed on June 17 to end the war, while now seeking international condemnation of Iran. He argued that the world is suffering from instability and economic insecurity due to the US's actions.

Furthermore, Baqaei challenged the US narrative, accusing it of instigating global chaos and then attempting to shift blame onto Iran. His comments were a direct response to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's call for international condemnation of Iran's alleged involvement in attacks on commercial vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
