Tehran:President Masoud Pezeshkian has declared that Iran will steadfastly resist pressure from the United States and will not yield to coercion, emphasizing that while Iran does not seek war, it will not retreat in the face of threats. Pezeshkian made these remarks during a ceremony commemorating National Export Day, where he honored the country's top exporters.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian praised the efforts of Iranian exporters, stating that their hard work has helped Iran remain resilient despite increasing pressures. He highlighted the importance of planning a course that enables Iran to continue moving forward with strength and determination.
Pezeshkian explained that his administration has been focused on removing obstacles for exporters by delegating authority to regional officials and eliminating cumbersome regulations. He mentioned that during the war, he conferred the same authority to provincial governors and ministers that he held himself, encouraging them to resolve problems and remove barriers for exporters.
The president acknowledged the numerous challenges Iran faces, many of which have persisted since his administration began. He reiterated that the US underestimated Iran's ability to withstand attacks and sanctions, but Iran has stood firm and will continue to do so. Pezeshkian reaffirmed that while Iran does not intend to start a war, it will not accept coercion, a stance rooted in the country's culture and values.
These comments come amid increased US military activity in West Asia and heightened rhetoric from American officials against Iran. Tehran has warned that any renewed aggression against Iranian territory will be met with targeted responses against US bases and naval assets in the region.
