New York:The Iranian mission to the United Nations has refuted claims regarding the timing of its delegation's departure from New York, which was led by Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Iran's mission to the UN issued a statement on Wednesday confirming that the delegation left New York on Monday evening as scheduled. This schedule had been communicated to the U.S. Department of State in advance on September 17. The mission criticized the U.S. Department of State, stating that it had resorted to spreading baseless and worthless news after failing to achieve its objectives. Previously, Axios quoted a source suggesting that the United States had requested the Iranian delegation to leave New York. However, the same source admitted that Araghchi had already planned to return to Tehran on Monday evening. The Iranian delegation was in the United States to participate in the 81st annual session of the United Nations General Assembly.
