Tehran:According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has praised the removal of US forces from Iraq, viewing it as a significant triumph for the Iraqi people and a move towards ending foreign control in West Asia.
The IRGC issued a statement on Thursday, asserting that the US withdrawal was a result of the Iraqi people's determination to maintain their independence and labeled it a substantial success for the resistance movement. The statement noted that the 20-year US military presence in Iraq did not bring security but instead contributed to regional instability and insecurity.
The expulsion of US forces was described by the IRGC as a major defeat for Washington, claiming that the United States gained nothing from its lengthy stay in Iraq, despite the loss of approximately 5,000 US troops and an expenditure of $4 trillion.
The IRGC further stated that this withdrawal is only the first step towards the complete removal of US forces from West Asia, urging the United States to leave the region and allow local nations to manage their own security. The organization vowed to continue supporting regional peoples until US and Israeli forces are removed from West Asia and the 'full liberation of al-Quds' is achieved.
