Tehran: Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, has declared that Iran does not trust the promises and commitments of the United States and Israel, and remains fully prepared to counter any new actions by them. The general made these remarks during a phone conversation with Major General Emomali Sobirzoda, the Minister of Defense of Tajikistan.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Mousavi expressed his gratitude for Tajikistan’s support of Iran during the 12-day conflict initiated by Israel on June 13, which saw the U.S. joining in by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites on June 22. He emphasized that despite the U.S. and Israel’s extensive use of power against Iran’s Armed Forces, they did not achieve their objectives and ultimately sought a ceasefire to protect the Israeli regime.
The general stressed that Iran remains vigilant against any potential aggression from Tel Aviv and Washington. ‘We have absolutely no trust in the promises and commitments of the Americans and the Zionists, and we are fully prepared to firmly confront any potential new evil act from them,’ Mousavi stated.
Sobirzoda expressed his condolences for the loss of Iranian lives and senior commanders during the conflict, highlighting the shared cultural, linguistic, and historical ties between Tajikistan and Iran. He remarked that the people and government of Tajikistan consider the Iranian people as friends and brothers.
