Mexico city: On the occasion of the 124th anniversary of Iran-Mexico friendly relations, the Iranian Ambassador to Mexico said the Islamic Republic is ready to begin a new phase in bilateral ties with the Latin American country.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Alireza Pasandideh, the Iranian Ambassador, expressed his views in an article published in the Mexican magazine Buzos. He highlighted that May 14 marks the anniversary of the signing of the 'Treaty of Friendship and Commerce' between the two nations, which was established in 1902. Despite the passage of over a century, the ambassador noted that bilateral relations continue to be grounded in mutual respect, dialogue, and goodwill.

The Iranian Ambassador underlined the importance of both countries looking toward the future to enhance their friendly relations. He called for utilizing mutual capacities to elevate bilateral ties to a new level that reflects the history and significance of both nations.

Pasandideh remarked that in today's world, there is a greater need for understanding, cooperation, and mutual respect. He emphasized that Iran considers Mexico a friendly, influential, and important country in Latin America, and is committed to the comprehensive expansion of bilateral relations across all fields.
