Ankara: Iran's national team has secured the runner-up position at the second edition of the 2026 Karakucak World Pahlavani Wrestling Championships held in Turkiye.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the tournament took place from 15 to 16 August in Ankara, with 35 countries participating. Iran's team achieved a commendable performance, earning 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals, which amassed a total of 72 points, securing their second-place finish.
Turkiye, the host nation, claimed the team title with a total of 85 points, while Azerbaijan secured the third position with 46 points. The championship marks a significant event in the world of Pahlavani wrestling, showcasing talent from numerous countries.
