Tehran: Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has held a phone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, to review bilateral relations and regional developments.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during the telephone conversation, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and Mohammad Ishaq Dar exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and the latest regional developments. This conversation highlighted the ongoing communication and collaboration between the two neighboring countries.

Araghchi also engaged in a separate phone conversation with Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan's army chief, to discuss regional matters. This reflects Iran's approach to maintaining direct dialogue with key figures in Pakistan's leadership to address regional concerns collectively.

The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Araghchi and Ishaq Dar agreed to maintain close cooperation and plan to meet in New York on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly. This upcoming meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to continue their dialogue on a global stage.

Ishaq Dar emphasized the importance of uninterrupted energy supplies and the secure and swift passage of ships, acknowledging their significant impact on developing countries and global supply chains. The focus on energy and trade routes indicates the practical considerations both countries are prioritizing in their diplomatic engagements.
