Astrakhan: Russia is interested in sending a delegation to Tehran to learn from Iran's experience in protecting infrastructure and providing emergency services during wartime, Russian Emergency Situations Minister General Alexander Kurenkov said on Saturday. Kurenkov made these remarks during a meeting with Omid Mohtarami, deputy head of Iran's Crisis Management Organization, who was visiting Astrakhan to attend the Caspian-2026 international exercise and discuss bilateral cooperation in crisis management.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Kurenkov emphasized that through joint work, Moscow and Tehran could achieve significant successes and enhance the security of citizens in both nations. He highlighted Iran's support for Russia during challenging times and expressed Russia's readiness to reciprocate the support. Kurenkov underscored the importance of demonstrating the friendship between the two countries through mutual support and assistance.

Mohtarami noted that Iran, which encounters a high risk of natural disasters and other hazards, is keen on leveraging the experience and technical expertise of other nations, including Russia. He pointed out that the cooperation and joint actions in crisis management between the two countries have increased in recent years. Mohtarami expressed readiness to develop a long-term program covering the crisis-management cycle under a joint agreement with Russia.
