Tehran:Iran's Civil Aviation Organization is actively working to lift flight restrictions by employing diplomatic and legal strategies. The organization, led by Abuzar Shiroudi, has filed a formal complaint with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to address the issue.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Shiroudi stated that the organization, along with the Foreign Ministry, is utilizing all legal avenues to remove barriers and restart previously suspended flight routes. A formal protest has been submitted to ICAO against the flight restrictions imposed by the United States, supported by documentation of flight disruptions.

Due to restrictions on direct European flights, Iran has been using connecting services through regional airports such as Istanbul as an alternative solution. Additionally, Iran has lodged a complaint with The Hague concerning attacks on its airports, aircraft, and radars. While ICAO has ruled in Iran's favor, the case at The Hague is still under review, with any potential compensation dependent on the court's decision.

Efforts are also being made to restore flights that were halted by several countries, with Iran seeking explanations through diplomatic channels. Shiroudi mentioned that Iraqi authorities are collaborating to resume operations at Baghdad and Najaf airports, with Najaf expected to reopen first in the near future.
