Tehran: Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami, has announced the launch of nine specialized clinics for plasma-based wound treatment across the country. During the official opening ceremony of a new clinic at Rasoul Akram Hospital in Iran’s capital, Tehran, Eslami said that five new centers were inaugurated today. Currently, there are eight wound treatment centers operating in Tehran and one in Sabzevar, a northeastern city of Iran, providing services to patients, he added.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Eslami emphasized that health and food security are top priorities for the AEOI, adding, ‘We have planned to further expand the application of nuclear technology in various fields, including medicine, and make it available to different sectors.’ He stated that nuclear technology has a considerable impact on medicine, agriculture, industry, and environmental protection, and the organization is working to advance the use of this technology in all of these areas simultaneously.

Eslami noted that cold plasma technology has shown promising and effective results in wound treatment. ‘Given the positive outcomes, we will expand the use of this technology in healthcare to ensure that all patients can benefit from cold plasma therapy,’ he said.
