Iran Maintains Control Over Strait of Hormuz Amidst Demand Standoff

Tehran:Strait of Hormuz: A senior advisor to the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has declared that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until Iran's demands are fulfilled. The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran currently exert full control over this crucial waterway.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Naqdi, in an interview with Al-Alam news network, explained that the transit of smuggled oil through the Strait of Hormuz is minimal. He stressed that it is inaccurate to claim the waterway is open to such activities and stated, "We will address this issue as well."

Naqdi mentioned that some routes carved out by blasting rocky passages are primarily used by small boats for smuggling oil to larger tankers. He assured that these routes would soon be closed to prevent further smuggling.

He also touched upon the range of Iran's weapons, stating that any limitations are due to government policy rather than technical constraints. The range is determined by national needs as decided by the country's officials and the Leader. Naqdi emphasized that Iran can expand the range of its weapons when authorized by officials and the Leader to meet battlefield requirements, given that Iran's weapons are domestically produced.
