Tehran:Iranian Navy commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani has emphasized the strategic significance of the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that its security is contingent upon the will, vigilance, and readiness of Iran's defenders.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in a communication to the commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy, Rear Admiral Ali Ozamaei, on the occasion of the Day of the IRGC Naval Force, Irani highlighted the sea as an area of vital interest for Iran. He described it as a key element in safeguarding national security and authority, underscoring that its protection requires individuals who embody faith, knowledge, courage, and readiness.
Irani noted that the IRGC Naval Force has been crucial in protecting Iran's national interests and securing the strategically important Hormuz waterway. This has been achieved through a sustained presence and effort in the Persian Gulf, leveraging domestic capabilities and a spirit of jihad.
He reflected on how this responsibility was particularly significant during the Ramadan War and the Hormuz Battle, where IRGC forces defended Iran's territory and interests against the aggression of American-Zionist forces. This demonstrated that the security of the region is reliant on the readiness of Iran's defenders.
Deputy Army Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Hossein Dadras stated that the Armed Forces of Iran have remained steadfast against their adversaries, showing more strength and resolve than ever before. He described the adversary as pursuing malevolent objectives at the cost of innocent lives, citing the slaughter of children in Gaza and the incident at the Minab school.
Dadras recounted how the enemy underestimated Iran's resilience, expecting to achieve its goals swiftly and even resorting to the assassination of Iranian leaders and military commanders. Despite these challenges, the Iranian nation and its Armed Forces have stood more firmly and are now more prepared than ever to face such threats.
