Tehran: A commemorative ceremony for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and his family has begun at Imam Khomeini Musalla in Tehran on the 40th day after a historic funeral procession across the country.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the ceremony was held on Tuesday afternoon at the invitation of the current Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei. It was attended by Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, grandson of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, along with Hojjatoleslam Masoud Khamenei and Hojjatoleslam Mostafa Khamenei, the surviving family members of the martyred Leader.

The gathering also saw the presence of the First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Judiciary Chief Hojjatoleslam Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei, as well as several governmental and military officials. A large crowd of admirers of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution also attended the ceremony.
