Araghchi and Iraqi Foreign Minister Discuss Regional Security and Border Stability

Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein engaged in a phone conversation to discuss the latest regional developments and issues concerning border security.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi reaffirmed Iran's commitment to supporting Iraq's security, stability, and territorial integrity during the call. He highlighted the necessity of being vigilant against terrorist activities, referencing the recent attack on the office of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister. Araghchi cautioned against any plots that could harm the amicable and fraternal relations between the two countries.

Both ministers emphasized the significance of maintaining security and stability along their shared borders. They agreed on the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation and coordination to avert insecurity or threats to border stability.
