Riyadh: Iran's Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Hossein Simaei Saraf, has left Tehran for Riyadh at the head of a delegation to attend UNESCO's artificial intelligence summit in the Saudi capital. Simaei departed on Tuesday to participate in the 4th UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (GFEAI 2026).

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the summit convenes officials, policymakers, and representatives from multiple countries to discuss issues related to AI development and governance, the scientific and ethical dimensions of emerging technologies, and the expansion of international cooperation in this field. The event aims to foster dialogue and collaboration on crucial aspects of artificial intelligence.

During the trip, the minister will engage in the summit's programs and hold meetings with officials and representatives of participating countries. The 4th UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (GFEAI 2026) is scheduled to take place from 14 to 17 September 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
