Iran Offers Assistance in Resolving Saudi-Yemen Conflict

Tehran:Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, has expressed the country's readiness to assist in resolving the ongoing issues between Saudi Arabia and Yemen through peaceful dialogue. Iran maintains its steadfast position on addressing the Yemen conflict diplomatically.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei emphasized that Iran is prepared to utilize its resources to aid in ending the conflict, should both Saudi Arabia and Yemen request assistance. He highlighted Iran's long-standing commitment to leveraging its influence for peaceful resolutions.

Baqaei also critiqued the foreign intervention and military strategies that have characterized the Saudi-Yemen conflict over the past 12 years, pointing out that such approaches, along with the blockade, have not provided solutions. He noted the resilience of the Yemeni people, who have endured a prolonged air and sea blockade, imposed with involvement from countries like Britain and the United States.

He called on regional countries and the broader Muslim community to make concerted efforts to resolve the conflict. Additionally, Baqaei dismissed allegations from a Saudi official that Iran had instigated Yemeni attacks against Saudi Arabia, asserting that Yemen's military decisions are independent and not influenced by Iran.

Baqaei concluded that escalating tensions is not beneficial for any party involved in the conflict.
