Islamabad: The senior Iranian and Pakistani military officials have held talks on strengthening cooperation in the area of defense. The discussions aimed to enhance bilateral ties, focusing on defense, border management, and counter-terrorism strategies. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the meetings took place in Islamabad between Iran's Deputy Minister of Defense Hojatollah Qoreyshi and Pakistan's Defense Minister Muhammad Asif, as well as General Muhammad Ali, Secretary of Pakistan's Ministry. Both parties emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation on issues of mutual interest, as noted in a statement issued by the Pakistani Ministry of Defense. During the discussions, Pakistani Defense Minister Asif expressed gratitude for the firm stance of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in supporting oppressed nations. In a separate meeting in Rawalpindi, Qoreyshi conferred with his counterpart on enhancing relations in defense and addressing shared concerns suc h as border management and counter-terrorism. The Tehran-Islamabad talks were reportedly conducted in a constructive atmosphere, reflecting the commitment of both nations to strengthening their defense ties. The Iranian delegation, led by Qoreyshi, had arrived in Islamabad on November 6 to engage in these significant military discussions with Pakistani officials.
