Tehran: Commander of the Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Brigadier General Ahmadreza Radan, has issued a stern warning that any enemy aggression or 'false illusion' will be met with a decisive and regret-inducing response.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in a message marking Sacred Defense Week, Radan emphasized the significance of Iraq's eight-year war of aggression against Iran in the 1980s. He described it not merely as a historical event but as an 'operational doctrine' and a model of resistance. Radan stated that, in the face of current global challenges, the Sacred Defense serves as a guiding principle for Iran's defensive strategy.

Radan further asserted that any level of enemy aggression would be countered with a decisive response that the aggressors would regret. He also paid homage to the commanders and combatants of the Sacred Defense era, reaffirming the police's dedication to maintaining national security.

The Sacred Defense refers to the period when, backed by the United States and European powers, former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein initiated an attack on Iran on September 22, 1980, shortly after the Islamic Revolution.
