Tehran: Colonel Naghi Mahmoudi, head of the international department at the Islamic Republic of Iran's Law Enforcement Command, has announced the extradition of two foreign fugitives accused of murder, following the issuance of a Red Notice by the international police organization.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Colonel Mahmoudi stated that the two foreign nationals were wanted for murder based on notifications from judicial authorities. After allegedly kidnapping and killing an individual in a neighboring country, the suspects fled, entering Iran with one doing so legally and the other unlawfully.
The colonel elaborated that Iranian authorities utilized Interpol's resources and coordinated with relevant domestic and foreign agencies to secure a Red Notice for the suspects. Identifying their hiding locations became a priority for the authorities.
Through continuous follow-ups and technical police efforts, the suspects were located, arrested, and subsequently handed over to judicial authorities. Mahmoudi further noted that, alongside other actions, the suspects were ultimately extradited to their home country with the assistance of law enforcement forces.
