Iran President Urges Islamic Nations to Unite in Support of Syria Against Terrorism.

Tehran: Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has called for greater cooperation among Islamic countries to assist Syria in its fight against terrorist groups currently challenging the government. Pezeshkian emphasized the need for alignment and cohesion among Islamic nations during a phone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, where they discussed the latest developments in West Asia, particularly the situation in Syria following an attack in the north of the country on Wednesday. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, President Pezeshkian highlighted the importance of protecting the territorial integrity of regional countries, including Syria, as a key strategy for Iran concerning the region. He expressed Iran's readiness to collaborate in addressing ongoing terrorist activities in Syria, stressing the necessity for integration and unity among Islamic nations to aid Syria in overcoming terrorist threats. Pezeshkian expressed concerns over the recent developments in Syria, notin g that they have raised serious alarm about regional security at a time when the area was experiencing relative peace, especially after the ceasefire in Lebanon and growing focus on Gaza. He attributed these incidents to what he described as "vicious plots by the Zionist regime" aimed at spreading insecurity and conflict within Islamic countries, urging joint efforts by Islamic nations to counteract the spread of such terrorism. In agreement with Pezeshkian's sentiments, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani attributed the latest terrorist activities in Syria to attempts by the Israeli regime to undermine Syria's security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Al Sudani emphasized the increased need for diplomatic efforts by the international community and regional countries to thwart the spread and infiltration of terrorist groups, warning that failing to do so could pose significant threats to global peace and security. Al Sudani also declared Iraq's willingness to assist in countering terrorist groups, highlighting Baghdad's ongoing efforts with regional leaders to establish a unified approach to combating terrorism. He advocated for concerted efforts by all regional countries to prevent the proliferation of terrorism and restore stability and security to Syria.
