Iran Protests Remarks by German Lawmaker at IPU Assembly

Hanoi:Manouchehr Mottaki, the Head of the Executive Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), has voiced objections to comments made by a German parliamentarian regarding Iran during the 153rd IPU Assembly held in Tanzania. Mottaki asserted that these remarks were in violation of the assembly's rules.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Mottaki announced that the Iranian delegation has formally lodged a complaint with the president of the IPU. He suggested that the German lawmaker's comments might align with the objectives of the Zionist regime, raising concerns about potential bias.

In his criticism of Germany's position on the Israeli regime, Mottaki highlighted that the Iranian nation will not remain passive in response to the regime's actions. He further mentioned Iran's martyrs, including the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, emphasizing that Iran will remember its martyrs and that those accountable for crimes must face justice.
