Iran Savate Team Clinches Two Bronze Medals at 2026 World Championships

Tehran: Iran's national savate team has won two bronze medals at the 2026 World Championships in France. The tournament was held in Boulogne from September 9 to 12, bringing together athletes from 45 countries.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, savate, also known as French boxing, is a dynamic hybrid martial art that combines the precision of Western boxing with a repertoire of kicking techniques. The event saw athletes from around the world competing in this full-contact combat sport.

Mohammad-Hossein Fallah claimed bronze in the under-70kg category after victories over opponents from Hong Kong, Germany, Italy, and Senegal. His journey ended in the semifinals with a loss to a French fighter.

In the under-75kg category, Farzam Fallah also secured a bronze medal. He defeated athletes from Japan, Germany, and Hungary before facing French world champion Aiden Garcia in the semifinals, where his campaign concluded.
