Zanjan: Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Reza Salehi-Amiri has announced a positive trend in the number of foreign tourists visiting Iran over the past two months. Salehi-Amiri shared these insights with reporters during the inauguration of a tourism village in Ejroud, located in Zanjan Province.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Salehi-Amiri revealed that since October, tourist arrivals have surged, reaching 4.5 million, despite a dip from June to September compared to the same period in the previous year. Last year, Iran welcomed nearly 7.4 million foreign tourists.

Addressing concerns about security and negative portrayals by Western media, Salehi-Amiri mentioned his recent discussions with regional counterparts. He also highlighted Tehran’s plans to host tourism ministers from the Nowruz region later this year.

Salehi-Amiri emphasized the administration of President Masoud Pezeshkian’s commitment to developing tourism infrastructure for both domestic and foreign visitors. He identified Zanjan Province as a focal point in the country’s five-year tourism strategy, noting his visit aimed to explore the province’s religious tourism potential.
