Tehran: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy has announced the seizure of an unmanned American submarine in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. In a statement on Tuesday, the IRGC said its naval forces captured "one of the most modern, smart and unmanned submarines of the US terrorist army at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz" in a complex intelligence and operational operation at dawn today. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the IRGC noted that the submarine was equipped with the latest technology, which was delivered to the American naval fleet in 2025. The statement added that the submarine is now in the control of the Iranian forces, and images of it will be published in the coming hours. The IRGC, on its information website, also introduced the captured submarine as Dive-LD, saying it is a product of Anduril Industries, an American company manufacturing advanced autonomous systems and defense technology to protect US and its allied forces. It further stated that Dive-LD, which was de livered to the US Navy last year, is about 5.8 meters long and weighs nearly three tons and is designed to independently carry out long missions in deep waters.
