TEHRAN: Iran is setting its sights on significantly boosting trade exchanges with neighboring Armenia, aiming for an ambitious $1 billion in annual trade as part of its strategy to access the Eurasian market, according to the Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) of Iran. Akbar Godari, head of the TPO's Central Asia, Caucasus, and Russia Department, emphasized the importance of Armenia as a gateway to the broader Eurasian region. Godari outlined plans to escalate exports to Armenia, initially targeting the $1 billion mark and aspiring for $3 billion in the long term. The TPO anticipates a 20-30 percent growth in trade with Armenia over the next year. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, this announcement underscores Iran's strategic economic objectives in the region, highlighting Armenia's pivotal role in facilitating trade access to the Eurasian market.
