Tehran: Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has declared that Tehran remains undeterred by the United States' military presence in the region, emphasizing the Islamic Republic's commitment to diplomacy while being fully prepared to defend itself. Araghchi made these remarks during the National Congress on the Foreign Policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, asserting that Iran's approach to international relations is grounded in logic and strength.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi highlighted that Iran's stance on its nuclear program is rooted in both practical needs and the principles of independence and dignity. He described the country's enrichment capabilities and nuclear program as crucial for various sectors, including agriculture and healthcare, and essential for future nuclear fuel requirements. Araghchi stressed Iran's determination to maintain its enrichment activities, viewing it as a right that should not be dictated by external forces.
Further clarifying Iran's position, Araghchi expressed Iran's willingness to engage in dialogue to address any international concerns regarding its nuclear program. He emphasized that while Iran is open to building trust, it firmly rejects any external imposition on its sovereign rights. Araghchi underscored that diplomacy remains the only effective means to resolve questions surrounding Iran's peaceful nuclear pursuits, given that other strategies have failed in the past.
Araghchi concluded by asserting that any negotiations with Iran must be based on mutual respect for Iran's rights. He warned that Iran would respond appropriately to the tone set by international counterparts, advocating for a respectful discourse over one of force.
