Iran to Retain Enriched Uranium Amidst Diplomatic Discussions

Tehran:Secretary of Supreme National Security (SNSC) Major General Mohsen Rezaei has declared that Iran will not allow even a particle of enriched uranium to leave the country. This statement was made during a meeting with Pakistani mediator Field Marshal Asim Munir on Tuesday evening.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Rezaei described Iran's enriched nuclear material as a significant national asset intended for domestic use. He emphasized the unity of Iranian officials and the populace on this matter and stated that negotiations with the United States would not proceed until trust-building measures were taken by Washington. Rezaei highlighted that meeting Iran's conditions would be essential for initiating any such process.

Rezaei also highlighted the strong ties between the Iranian and Pakistani peoples. In response, Munir announced the reopening of the border between Iran and Pakistan, noting that border-related issues had been resolved, allowing crossings to resume operations earlier on Tuesday. Additionally, the Pakistani army chief commended Iran's armed forces for their resilience during the 40-day war and underscored the importance of enhancing regional cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad, independent of foreign powers.
