Isfahan: The governor of Isfahan Province has announced plans to pursue legal action against the United States and Israel for damages inflicted on several historical sites during recent military strikes. A team of legal experts is set to file complaints with international organizations regarding the destruction.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Mehdi Jamali Nejad highlighted the importance of preserving historical sites during the 'International Day for Monuments and Sites.' He emphasized that cultural heritage is crucial for a sustainable future. Jamali Nejad reported that the attacks resulted in damage to approximately 203 locations within the Grand Bazaar and 28 historical monuments. Restoration efforts are already underway, with plans to complete the work within the next two years of the current administration.
Jamali Nejad further stated that a legal team has been appointed to prepare the necessary documentation for the complaints. Experts have conducted investigations in Isfahan, compiling evidence to support the legal proceedings. The governor expressed hope for a favorable outcome as the case progresses.
