Iran Urges Redefinition of Cooperation Framework with China

Tehran: First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has called for redefining the mechanisms governing cooperation with China, urging the adoption of new and more effective approaches to expand bilateral engagement.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the remarks were made during a meeting chaired by Aref to review the framework of Iran-China cooperation. Representatives from the foreign, transport, oil, and agriculture ministries, along with the Central Bank, presented updates on bilateral ties, joint projects, and ongoing cooperation.

Aref emphasized the strategic importance of expanding relations with China for Iran. He suggested that existing cooperation mechanisms should be reassessed to better support this partnership. Furthermore, he advocated for reducing administrative bureaucracy, streamlining implementation procedures, and eliminating obstacles to facilitate cooperation.

He also highlighted the necessity to accelerate the execution of joint Iran-China projects and programs, stressing the importance of efficiency and prompt action in enhancing bilateral ties.
