Antalya: Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh has called on the United Nations to employ its full capacity to halt what he described as Israel's genocide in Gaza and the regime's intensified attacks in the occupied West Bank.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Khatibzadeh made these remarks during a meeting with Rosemary Anne DiCarlo, the U.N. under-secretary-general for political and peacebuilding affairs. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the Fourth Antalya Diplomacy Forum held in Turkey from April 11-13. The discussions centered on significant regional and international issues, emphasizing the Israeli regime's actions against Palestinians in both Gaza and the West Bank.
Khatibzadeh urged the senior U.N. official to leverage the full capacity of the global body to help stop the alleged genocide in Gaza and the military offensives in the West Bank. DiCarlo responded by noting that the United Nations has already initiated some measures to curb the Israeli actions and committed to intensifying efforts in this regard.
In addition, Khatibzadeh and DiCarlo discussed the indirect talks between Iran and the United States, which were hosted and mediated by Oman on Saturday.
