Iran Vows Stronger Response to Military Actions Amid Diplomatic Efforts

Tehran:Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has declared that the country will respond more aggressively to any renewed military confrontations while maintaining its commitment to diplomatic solutions. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi emphasized Iran's readiness to defend itself and pursue peaceful resolutions during a meeting with foreign ambassadors and diplomatic mission leaders in Tehran. He stated that if adversaries opted for military confrontation, Iran would deliver a stronger response than before. Simultaneously, Iran remains open to achieving a just and dignified solution through diplomacy. During the 81st UN General Assembly in New York, Araghchi met with 42 foreign ministers, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian engaged with about 10 heads of state. The foreign minister commended the efforts of those who coordinated the schedule, highlighting Iran's impactful presence at the event. Araghchi refuted US claims that the Iranian delegation had been expelled, noting that the delegation adhered to its planned schedule. He questioned the behavior of the United States as the host of the United Nations. Additionally, he outlined Iran's conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, linking them to US commitments. He noted that interactions with neighboring countries, especially those in the Persian Gulf, were productive and amicable, with a shared commitment to peace and security. His discussions with European nations were also extensive, as he urged them to reassess their stance toward Iran, particularly in light of NATO's acknowledgment of European involvement in the US-led conflict against Iran. Araghchi expressed hope that the United States would adopt a rational approach, as military action or further sanctions would not resolve the situation.
