Iran Warns Bahrain Against Hosting Attacks

Tehran:Tehran has issued a warning to Bahrain and other regional states, cautioning them against allowing their territory or airspace to be used for attacks on Iran, with a promise of retaliation if such actions occur again.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ali Karimi Magham, the Second Secretary of Iran's Permanent Mission to the United Nations, addressed the UN Third Committee on Monday. He responded to statements made by Bahrain's representative, who spoke on human rights issues while allegedly ignoring the context of certain events.

Magham argued that Bahrain was not an innocent party, stating it had allowed its territory, bases, and airspace to support an illegal U.S. war against Iran. He emphasized that a nation facilitating unlawful warfare against its neighbor cannot be surprised by subsequent repercussions.

The Iranian representative reiterated that Iran did not initiate any attack but had been the target of aggression, framing Tehran's response as a legitimate exercise of its rights. He warned that Iran would respond if any regional country allowed its territory to be used for further attacks.

Addressing the Bahraini representative, Magham highlighted that the region has two paths: collaborative security-building or continued insecurity. He noted that Bahrain had previously chosen insecurity and cautioned against expecting different results from repeating the same choice.
