Muscat: Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with Hans Grundberg, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen, in Muscat on Monday to discuss challenges facing the Arab country. Grundberg presented a report on the latest situation in Yemen and called for Iran’s continued support of the UN’s role and efforts aimed at improving conditions and advancing the peace process in the country.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during the meeting, Araghchi condemned ongoing Israeli attacks against countries in the region, while also pointing to the continued blockade and sanctions imposed on Yemen. He warned that Israel’s violations of international law risk fueling greater insecurity and instability across West Asia.

Araghchi arrived in Muscat, the capital of Oman, earlier today at the head of a diplomatic delegation to participate in the annual meeting of the ‘Muscat Forum’ and to explain Iran’s stance on key global issues.
