Iran Women’s Futsal Team Crowned CAFA Champions

Dushanbe: Iran's women's futsal national team has claimed the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Championship title after defeating Tajikistan. Iran secured an emphatic 8-1 victory over the hosts in their second match of the CAFA Women's Futsal Championship 2026 held in Dushanbe.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Iranian squad showcased a formidable performance with goals from Shaghayegh Motamedi (2), Elham Anafjeh (2), Maral Torkaman (2), Fereshteh Karimi, and Maryam Ghaed-Amini. This victory not only secured the championship title for Iran but also highlighted the skill and talent within the team.

The tournament's top individual awards were dominated by Iranian players, emphasizing their prowess in the competition. Maral Torkaman was named the Best Player of the tournament, while Fereshteh Karimi received the Top Scorer award. The Best Goalkeeper accolade was awarded to Farzaneh Tavassoli, further underlining Iran's dominance in the championship.

In addition to these accolades, Shaghayegh Motamedi was recognized as the best player in the match against Tajikistan, underscoring her significant contribution to the team's success. Prior to this match, Iran had already showcased their formidable skills with a 5-0 victory over Kyrgyzstan in their opening match of the competition.
