Berlin: Criticizing Europe's silence regarding the US President's overt threats against Iranian civilian infrastructure, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Germany warned that the consequences of appeasing Washington's aggression would ultimately backfire on the Europeans themselves.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Iranian ambassador, Nili, highlighted that the US president announced in April 2026 an intention to attack power plants and bridges. This week, the president reiterated threats to target bridges in the coming days. Yet, Europe has remained silent in response to these blatant threats.
Nili argued that this silence exposes the hypocrisy and duplicity of certain European parties regarding their claims of respect for international and humanitarian law. He emphasized that Europe's inaction in the face of threats to and attacks on civilian infrastructure leads to the normalization of disregard for fundamental rules of international humanitarian law. This, he warned, emboldens rogue regimes, including the Zionist regime, to continue violence in regions such as Palestine and Lebanon.
