Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, have engaged in a telephone conversation to discuss bilateral relations and the latest regional developments.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the discussion between the two foreign ministers focused on Iran's ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at de-escalating regional tensions. These efforts come in the wake of recent illegal military actions by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran.

Additionally, Araghchi and Ould Merzoug reaffirmed their mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral ties. They also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between Iran and Mauritania within international organizations.
