Muscat: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held a telephone conversation with his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, to discuss issues of mutual interest.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi, who is in New Delhi as part of a delegation accompanying President Masoud Pezeshkian to the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit, spoke with Al Busaidi over the phone on Saturday evening. The discussion focused on the latest regional developments and bilateral issues.

Araghchi is scheduled to attend a foreign minister-level meeting of Iran and other Persian Gulf littoral states this week in Oman. Regional issues, including a Tehran-Muscat deal to manage shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, are on the agenda of the upcoming meeting.
