Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has met with his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. During the meeting held on Thursday, the two sides exchanged views on key regional and bilateral issues.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, earlier on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei indicated that Al Thani, who is also the prime minister of Qatar, would meet Iranian officials to discuss 'de-escalation' and 'create conditions for dialogue.' The discussions are part of ongoing efforts to ease regional tensions.

Baqaei highlighted Qatar's efforts in recent months to help prevent an escalation of regional tensions following the military aggression by the US and the Israeli regime against Iran. The Qatari prime minister's visit is expected to focus on the continuation of Qatar's mediation efforts and initiatives, as well as other regional developments, during his meetings with Iranian officials.
