Iranian Cinema Festival Launches in Russia

Moscow:A major festival celebrating Iranian cinema has commenced in Moscow, Kazan, and Astrakhan, showcasing 11 Iranian feature films and animations as part of Iran's Cultural Days in Russia.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the festival began in Moscow with the screening of "Ziba Sedaayam Kon," directed by Rasul Sadrameli, at the Marshal Zhukov Cinema located in the Park of Freedom, attracting Russian-speaking audiences.

During the opening ceremony, Hossein Divsalar, deputy head of the Islamic Culture and Communications Organization for the development of scientific and cultural relations, emphasized the significance of enhancing cultural and cinematic ties between Iran and Russia. He also highlighted a newly signed memorandum between Tehran and Moscow aimed at joint film production, noting the potential for collaboration between Iran's Cinema Organization and Russia's Roskino in creating joint cinematic works.

The festival, as reported by Roskino, the official Russian organization representing the country's film industry at international festivals and markets, commenced in Moscow on September 29 and will continue in Kazan and Astrakhan until October 6. The program includes films from various years and genres, such as historical and biographical dramas, family animations, and adventure films, many of which have been honored at several festivals, including Iran's Fajr International Film Festival.
