Hanoi: Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vahid Jalalzadeh has engaged in discussions with Cuban Justice Minister Oscar Manuel Silveira Martnez and Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan on the sidelines of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi. Jalalzadeh’s meetings aim to bolster relations between Tehran and both Havana and Yerevan, with a specific focus on enhancing consular cooperation.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the discussions took place on Sunday and underscored the importance of strengthening diplomatic ties. Prior to these meetings, Jalalzadeh met with Vietnam’s Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang, where they explored the growing bilateral relations and the frequency of mutual visits by political officials.
Jalalzadeh used a post on X (formerly Twitter) to reflect on his discussions with the Vietnamese minister, noting the positive developments in diplomatic relations. He also addressed issues encountered by Iranians living in Vietnam, highlighting the collaborative efforts to resolve them.
The Deputy Foreign Minister is in Vietnam to attend the UN convention focused on combating cybercrime. During the event, he delivered a speech at the signing ceremony, contributing to the international dialogue on establishing a common framework for tackling criminal activities in cyberspace. The convention saw participation from representatives of over 72 countries, marking the culmination of five years of negotiations.
