Tehran:Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi has emphasized the importance of achieving tangible results through legal and multilateral diplomacy to protect Iran's national interests. Speaking at a meeting of legal and international affairs directors and experts at the Foreign Ministry in Tehran, Gharibabadi underscored the necessity of international engagement in securing the rights of the Iranian people.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Gharibabadi reviewed the ministry's activities over the past 18 months, highlighting the strategic use of international organizations and legal mechanisms during conflicts imposed by the United States and Israel. He stressed the need for a coordinated approach to document rights violations and pursue international responsibility for states violating those rights.
Gharibabadi also called for enhanced participation in international forums, particularly within the United Nations, and the expansion of consultations with like-minded countries. He emphasized the importance of building coalitions and securing support for Iranian initiatives to ensure effective multilateral diplomacy.
To improve the effectiveness of Iran's diplomatic efforts, Gharibabadi highlighted the significance of coordination among various departments and warned against fragmented work. Training young specialists and setting clear operational priorities were also identified as crucial, with Gharibabadi advocating for performance assessments based on measurable results rather than mere activity levels or meeting attendance.
