Iranian Embassy Slams Western Silence on US Attacks

Berlin: The Iranian Embassy in Germany has warned that Western silence over US attacks amounts to abandoning the values of democracy and human rights that the West has long claimed to uphold. In a message on Wednesday, the embassy condemned the overnight attack by the US military on a wedding ceremony in Sirik, describing it as a continuation of a pattern previously seen in attacks on Minab and Lamerd.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the statement highlighted that in February 2026, Minab and Lamerd were targeted by rogue and desperate American warmongers, and now the same crime, following the same appalling pattern, has been repeated in a US missile strike on the wedding ceremony of two innocent young people in the city of Sirik.

The embassy further warned that the consequences of US attacks were not limited to the loss of civilian lives, but also challenged the credibility of Western claims regarding democracy and human rights. The statement added, 'US missiles have not only targeted the lives of innocent people; they have also torn away the mask of American democracy and dragged the credibility of Western human rights and democracy to the slaughterhouse.'

The Iranian Embassy stressed, 'Silence in the face of these crimes is no longer neutrality; it is the burial of the very values that the West has claimed for decades to defend.' A number of Iranian citizens lost their lives in a Tuesday night terror attack by US forces on a wedding in Kohestak, Sirik.

Following this terrorist act by the US military, the Deputy Governor of Hormozgan for Political, Security, and Social Affairs, Ahmad Nafisi, reported that the death toll from the US attack had risen to four, including a child.
