Kerman: The process of blocking the eastern Iranian borders has been accelerated, according to the interior minister, who expressed hope that the project will be completed on schedule. Eskandar Momeni made the remarks while speaking to reporters upon his arrival in south-central Iran. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, since the beginning of the new Iranian administration in July, serious efforts have been undertaken to manage and control foreign nationals. Momeni announced that part of the management strategy begins within the country, while another part focuses on the zero points of the borders. The Iranian government is decisively pursuing a total blockade on the borders, the minister emphasized. Momeni elaborated that the main challenge in organizing foreign nationals and those who have entered the country illegally is their repeated movements across borders. To address this, it is necessary to implement both physical and electronic measures to completely block the borders, employing technologi es such as optic sensors, he noted. The interior minister arrived in Kerman to attend the inauguration ceremony of the 17th Governor of Kerman, Mohammad Ali Talebi.
