Iranian Minister Highlights Maritime Transport’s Role Amid Sanctions

Tehran:According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh has emphasized the importance of Iran's maritime transport in maintaining the country's economic resilience in the face of sanctions.

Speaking on World Maritime Day, Sadegh stated that Iran's coastlines are a crucial element of the nation's economic and diplomatic strength. She highlighted the significance of maritime transport in sustaining trade and further developing Iran€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¾¢s maritime sector.

Sadegh noted that the ongoing movement of goods serves not only economic purposes but also signifies that Iran's essential economic routes remain operational despite external pressures and sanctions.

She underscored the necessity of regional cooperation for maintaining security and stability in the Persian Gulf. Iran, she affirmed, is dedicated to ensuring sustainable security in this strategic waterway and safeguarding the interests of regional nations.

The minister also expressed appreciation for the contributions of seafarers, maritime specialists, port workers, and others who play a vital role in keeping Iran's trade and economy active.

World Maritime Day, observed annually on September 24, celebrates the contributions of seafarers and the global maritime industry.
