Pezeshkian’s UN Speech Draws Collective Support from Reformist and Principlist Parties

Tehran:President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that his address to the UN General Assembly was grounded in the collective wisdom of both Reformist and Principlist political parties, highlighting his firm stance in defending the rights of the Iranian people.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to a group of political and social activists from Reformist parties during a meeting on Tuesday evening. He acknowledged their contributions and proposals, which he integrated into his speech, alongside his personal beliefs and convictions.

Pezeshkian stressed the importance of reformism being inherently flexible and called for increased understanding, coordination, and unity among Iran's political camps. He warned that divisions could weaken society and emphasized that collective cohesion is essential.

Additionally, Pezeshkian reiterated his administration's commitment to implementing the Islamabad memorandum of understanding and defending the rights of the Iranian people. He underscored the need for any agreement to be based on a win-win strategy.

Thirteen Reformist political activists, including notable figures such as Mohsen Aminzadeh and Mohammad Javad Zarif, commended Pezeshkian's UN speech and supported his stance on the Islamabad MoU. They described the memorandum, signed between the US and Iran on June 17 to end the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, as a significant and pride-worthy achievement in the nation's history.
