Tehran: Esmaeil Kowsari, a senior lawmaker and member of Iran's Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, has emphasized that internal unity and cohesion are crucial for Iran to confront the enmity from the United States. He contends that the strategy of adversaries often involves creating discord within the country to achieve their objectives.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Kowsari addressed several pressing issues in an interview on Sunday, including US warmongering and recent insults aimed at Iran's president and foreign minister during the funeral of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. He reiterated the late Leader's appeals for empathy, national unity, and cohesion among all political groups and factions, stating that maintaining unity is essential when facing significant challenges.

Kowsari pointed out the threatening and abusive stance of the US president, underscoring the necessity for unity now more than ever. He asserted that any insult to Iran's negotiating team, the president, and other officials is not only a strategic mistake but also a setback to the Resistance Front. He urged the nation to remain steadfast and united, even in the face of provocations, to stand against the enemy and emerge victorious. He emphasized that this unity is essential to avenge the blood of martyrs from the US and Zionist regime's actions.

Highlighting Iran's ongoing struggle on multiple fronts, Kowsari called on all national agencies, including the armed forces and diplomats, to act as a cohesive entity. He urged officials to prioritize the welfare of the people by addressing shortages and ensuring support, advocating for a resolute stance to thwart enemy plots.

Furthermore, Kowsari criticized the US for its hegemonic practices and the betrayal of its commitments, citing former President Trump's contradictory behavior as an example. He emphasized the necessity to expose the false claims of democracy and human rights by the US and the West, also condemning international organizations for their silence on US and Israeli actions against Iran.
