Iranian Football Teams Officially Protest AFC’s Revocation of Hosting Rights

Tehran: Iranian football teams have officially protested the Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) decision to revoke their hosting rights.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the AFC has revoked the hosting rights for Iranian teams Esteghlal, Tractor, and Chadormalu in the AFC Champions League Elite and the AFC Champions League Two. The AFC has requested that a neutral third country be introduced to host the home matches for these teams.

Iranian representatives have expressed strong objections to this unsportsmanlike decision. They have formally written to the AFC, requesting a review and revocation of the ruling. The representatives argue that there is no justification for holding matches on neutral ground and assert that hosting matches in Iran is their indisputable right.

All parties are now waiting for the AFC's response to the protests, while the draw ceremony for these competitions is scheduled to take place on August 18 in Kuala Lumpur.
