Tehran: First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has called on the Iranian nation to keep backing the country's negotiating team, emphasizing that it is defending national interests courageously and prudently. Aref made the remarks in a meeting with senior national executives and relevant ministers at the Market Regulation Headquarters on Sunday, where the supply of basic goods, and close supervision of the market during the wartime were emphasized.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Aref praised the Iranian negotiating team and criticized the Americans for their contradictory behavior in the talks. He described their positions as childish and inconsistent, highlighting that they oscillate between seeking a ceasefire and negotiations under pressure and adopting a stubborn stance afterward.

Referring to the strategic Strait of Hormuz, Aref stated that the Islamic Republic would maintain its wartime achievements, particularly in this critical waterway connecting the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. He asserted that Iran need not wait for the lifting of sanctions, as those imposed by adversaries have become practically ineffective.

The vice-president also commended the government's efforts, along with members of the market regulation headquarters, experts, and guilds, for ensuring the provision of basic goods. He praised their coordination and cohesion as a successful management model in wartime conditions.

Aref noted that the current administration has faced multiple challenges, including a 12-day war, a planned January coup by enemies, and a 40-day war. He lauded President Masoud Pezeshkian's strategic approaches aimed at bolstering national consensus, unity, and cohesion.

Furthermore, Aref acknowledged the vital role of ordinary Iranians, stating that their presence in the streets has been essential in overcoming crises and boosting the morale of both the armed forces and the diplomatic apparatus.

During the meeting, the proposal from the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad to complete strategic reserves by providing necessary foreign exchange was approved, along with a support package for industries affected by the imposed war.
